PCTEL NMO58UCP NMO Antenna Mount Kit - Complete Vehicle Installation Solution
The PCTEL Maxrad NMO58UCP is a professional-grade permanent vehicle antenna mount designed for Motorola-style mobile antennas operating from 0 to 960 MHz. This complete installation kit includes everything needed for a secure, weatherproof antenna mounting solution on vehicle roofs, trunks, or other flat metal surfaces.
Complete Installation Kit
This kit provides a turnkey solution for mobile antenna installations. The high-quality brass mount body ensures excellent RF conductivity and long-term durability, while the included 17-foot length of RG-58/U coaxial cable provides flexibility for routing through your vehicle to the radio location. The pre-installed silver-plated crimp UHF (PL-259) connector ensures reliable, low-loss connection to your mobile radio equipment.
Professional-Grade Construction
The NMO58UCP features a solid brass mount construction with gold-plated contact surfaces for superior electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. The mount uses the industry-standard NMO (New Motorola) thread pattern with 1-1/8 inch-18 TPI threading, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of mobile antennas from PCTEL, Larsen, Laird, and other major manufacturers. The mounting base is designed for permanent installation through a 3/4 inch hole with a secure coupling nut and sealing washer to prevent water intrusion.

Installation Overview
Installation requires drilling a 3/4 inch hole through the vehicle roof or mounting surface. The package label provides clear installation steps: measure and mark the mounting location (NMO and stud are 3/4 inch, rear axle and RATM are 3/8 inch or 3/4 inch, MTPM is 5/8 inch), route the cable from inside the vehicle and feed through the mounting hole, insert the lubricated O-ring in the groove on the underside of the coupling nut, and tighten the coupling nut securely over the mount. Proper installation with the included O-ring ensures a watertight seal.
The 17-foot cable length accommodates most vehicle installations, allowing routing through the roof, down the A-pillar, and to dashboard-mounted radio equipment. For optimal performance, avoid sharp bends in the coaxial cable and keep it away from sources of electrical interference.
Quality and Compatibility
PCTEL (formerly Maxrad) is a trusted name in mobile antenna solutions with decades of experience providing reliable RF connectivity products for commercial, public safety, and amateur radio markets. This mount accepts any standard NMO-threaded antenna, making it compatible with virtually all Motorola-pattern mobile antennas available on the market.
Performance Notes
While RG-58/U cable is suitable for most mobile applications, users should be aware that this cable type has higher signal loss compared to larger diameter cables like RG-8X or LMR-240, particularly at UHF and 800 MHz frequencies. For maximum performance in high-power or long cable run applications, consider upgrading to a low-loss cable assembly. However, for typical 25-50 watt mobile installations with the included 17-foot run, RG-58/U provides perfectly acceptable performance.
